Nursing Assistant Class
Provide a basic level of knowledge and skills for individuals who provide nursing assistant related services to residents. Your role as a nurse assistant trainee will prepare you for employment opportunities in home health, assisted living, hospital, nursing home and private duty. Providing quality care.
Medication Technician Aide
Medication Technician duties and responsibilities administer medication to residents. Follow medication administering orders by physician. Observing residents. Maintain accounting of all medications, primarily controlled substances. Create, maintain, and update residents records and medication information on a regular basis. Maintain awareness of medication interactions and side effects. Taking vital signs.

Nursing Assistant Prerequisites
Admission requirements:
Entrance Exam Requirement

Students must score 80% or higher on the Entrance Exam to be accepted into the program.
Application Process

$75.00 application fee, goes towards tuition.
Admission Requirements

Must be able to read and write English (6th–8th grade reading level recommended).

No high school diploma or GED required.

Must be 18 years or older.

Health Requirements

Must provide proof of a negative 1-step or 2-step PPD (Tuberculin skin test) or a negative chest X-ray.

PPD testing is the student’s responsibility.

Students may obtain PPD testing independently or have it administered in class for a $45 fee.
Background Check Requirement

A SLED Criminal Background Check ($26) is required.

Students may:

Obtain their own SLED background check, or
-
Submit $26 to the school for processing.

All students are subject to a criminal background review. Criminal records involving:

Violence (including elder or child abuse)
-
Sexual abuse or misconduct
-
Fraud, theft, or related offenses
May prevent admission, participation in clinical experiences, or employment after program completion.
Each case is reviewed individually by the instructor according to institutional policies and clinical site requirements.
